KAIROS Dance Theater will premiere two pieces in this year’s annual BU Dance Showcase.
“FODDER” (work-in-progress) examines our societal ‘domestication process’ and human desire to conform. DeAnna Pellecchia and Ingrid Schatz present the seventh duet in the “That Girl and The Other One” Series which emerges within an ever-shifting landscape provided by a corps of ten women. Cast includes Jerusha Aman, Jenny Bencze, Angela Conte, Andrea Dumas, Laura Eldred, Mary McCarthy, Erin McNulty, DeAnna Pellecchia, Ingrid Schatz, Tori Rotchford, Katie von Wald and Tara Weaver.
DeAnna Pellecchia will perform a new aerial piece entitled “REPRIEVE” (premiere), directed by Ingrid Schatz — an eerie duet between a woman and herself: a shadow falls, a rope swings, a girl flies, a woman faces the reality of her own limitations.
